The Caucasus Mountain Road, also know as the Abano Pass, is located in the region of Tusheti, Georgia in the central part of the Caucasus Mountain which rises to 9,350 ft above sea level. Abano Pass is the highest pass in Caucasus Mountain and since it is only partly maintained, only 4×4 vehicles are allowed to drive it. The road is closed from time to time due to floods and extreme weather conditions and requires very high driving skills due to the sharp curves and the narrow margins.
